July 25, 1981

My Mom tells me that it was a warm, sunny day much like today. She dropped Mauriah, Kirsten, and Jessica off at her parents house and met Doc Garver at the hospital. They broke her water and I arrived at 12:21 am. I was her biggest baby at 8 lbs. 1 oz and 22 1/2 inches long. The next morning, Doc released her early to go home, my Mom could no longer share the room and the air with her smoking roommate(!). She has always told me, I was her best baby- most content & easiest to please. I apologize I didn't make a longer run of that.
I am 27 years old today. Every year for the last 11 years, I've waited for my age to catch up with my life. In the world's eye, I may be still too young to be married, mothering 3 children, running a business, paying mortgages, ect. Some days I feel the world may be right about me. Do I have the wisdom, patience, or responsibility to raise beautiful children into beautiful, happy adults? Some days I feel I'm definately lacking.

I am 27 years old today. As I look at the last 11 years of my life, I can't believe how I've been blessed. I'm married to amazing Jace Baum, who went grocery shopping with 3 kids last night so he could make me breakfast at 6am this morning, who had my present overnighted and tipped our neighbor to wrap it pretty, and best of all - left his annual (and a bit inappropriate) hand written card, complete with drawings on the kitchen table. My family is healthy and happy and my six year old thinks I "rok". What more could a girl a want?

I am 27 years old today. My mom was 27 years old on this day 27 years ago. She was bringing home her 4th baby to meet her 3 other little girls. Her husband was busy running a construction company in a scary economy. Her mother was dying of lung cancer and would be buried just 6 months later, yards away from her front door. As I take in the view from my front door today, I am thinking of my Mom. I'm grateful for the life she gave me and the constant, steady, and at times entertaining example of faith, patience, and unconditional love. I'm so glad she is still just a phone call or 20 minute drive away.
By the way, when she called this morning to wish me happy birthday, she promised me she's not going anywhere anytime soon. I'm gonna hold you to that Mom.

Happy Birthday Day to YOU! I love the inappropriate card from Jace....I'm sure it was funny. Macy's card is so cute! What a loving and caring Mom you have. What is up with her roomate smoking in the hospital?! Now I know that the calm and collective babies come from you!

Just wanted to let you know that I have been meaning to call since I woke up and now it is 2:30 and still haven't gotten around to it, but I will try later. Just know that I'm grateful I have gotten to know you. What a sweet family you have. We sure hope you have had a great day so far. p.s. you can sneak in any time you want to use my bathroom! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Lindsay, Happy Birthday!! Reading your little update, it is so impressive to hear of all of the things that you do and have done for your family; especially for being so young still. And what's this i hear about you being in the fashion show? sounds like good times in SF, AZ

I told you yesterday that I loved your post! I haven't stopped thinking about it since I read it yesterday. I hope you had a good day! Your are so fun to be around and so lucky to have such a cool husband who goes to so much work for your presents.
I also had to tell mom she better not be going anywhere after I read your post. Whew, hopefully we got another 27 years with that lady.
Screw the world! You are so much smarter and stronger then any other 27 year old lady I know. If anyone can handle everything you have on your plate it would be you.
